The Samsung ES9500 OLED TV, the 55-incher is targeted to launch in South Korea in the second half of 2012 for the sticker shocking price of 9 grand. That's about twice as expensive as high end models right now. And though the picture is more than twice as good, that's still an insanely expensive price to pay for a TV. Especially when you can get something quite respectable on the cheap these days. Enjoy it, rich people. The rest of us will have to wait until OLED gets cheaper.

The new remote will feature less than a dozen physical keys. The remaining functions—screen settings, Internet searches, etc—will be handled by the touchscreen located at the top of the device. Users will also be able to change the volume and channel by simply speaking into the remote's embedded mic. This should prove a boon for setting up and logging into streaming accounts—you'll be able to just state your user name and login rather than having to cycle through character rolls. What's more, the remote utilizes Bluetooth and infrared simultaneously to improve its communication with the set and reduce lag.

The 3D 84-inch 3D ultra-defiinition 4K TV, another world's largest, has four times the "resolution clarity" of a full HDTV (3,840x2,160 versus 1,920x1,080 pixels), which is nice and it apparently will make LG's 3D experience that much better. The extra resolution won't matter much for consumers right now, though, because you'll need 4K content--and none of that exists yet.

LG has of course packed in all of its latest Smart TV functions with access to premium content services and more than 1,200 apps. And if using a regular remote control doesn't do it for you, LG's ergonomically designed Magic Remote will now recognize four types of command input: Voice Recognition, Wheel, Magic Gesture, and Point.

You read that last part right — Roku is the first streaming box maker out there to support HBO GO’s treasure trove of TV goodness, so you can finally stop paying for that subscription of HBO On Demand.

The latest 3D TV from Loewe, called the Individual 3D, gives owners a plethora of design options. These include the shade of the TV chassis, the color accents on the sides of the bezel, various matching speaker options, and some swanky-looking TV stands.

Just how much customization is available? The chassis comes in three colors--black, silver, and white--while buyers can choose from seven default shades for the color accents on the sides, with a custom option for fussier home A/V buffs to choose a specific hue. Loewe even makes several matching TV stands and speakers that include a pair of 3.7-foot-tall electrostatics, which reproduce sound using static electricity.

Spec-wise, Loewe's new 3D TVs sport full-HD resolution and simulated 400Hz refresh rates and use active shutter glasses. They are also smart TVs with a function the company calls Loewe MediaNet that allows for Web browsing and accessing online content.

The Individual 3D comes in four sizes with the smallest set--a 32-incher-- costing a cool 3,400 euros ($4,923). The largest 55-inch model will set you back 6,300 euros ($9,122). Unfortunately, the sets are only available in Europe at the moment.
