Men of Valor Xbox Game Has Shipped To Stores

Los Angeles, CA - October 19, 2004 – Vivendi Universal Games and 2015 Inc. announced today that the Xbox video game system from Microsoft version of their first-person action game Men of Valor has shipped to retail stores in the United States. The game will be released on the PC platform on October 26th. A Macintosh version of the game will ship later this year.

Men of Valor is an historical action experience that portrays infantry combat during the Vietnam War. Combining the latest Unreal technology with the gameplay expertise of 2015 (developers of the award-winning Medal of Honor: Allied Assault), the game immerses the player in the humid jungles of Southeast Asia in the most controversial conflict of the modern era.

Men of Valor Xbox Game follows an African-American Marine through the early stages of the conflict in Vietnam to the Tet Offensive. Touching on the some of the most familiar scenes of the war as they exist in the popular imagination, the player guides his group of fellow soldiers through the hardship and confusion of the battlefield, bonding with them as they do their duty for their country with the heroism and valor typical of the American soldier, but unsung during the turbulent times.

Looking for a little extra loot in Thief: Deadly Shadows™ Why not let yourself get caught? The first time the city guards nab you, they won't kill you—they'll just toss you in the clink. Escaping from prison gives you the chance to rob the joint as well, and you'd be surprised how much loot is sitting around in that deep, dark dock. You only go to jail once, though. After you break out, the guards will kill you, so watch out.

Chronicles of Riddick Xbox Game Review

We've been playing The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay lately and have to say, unlike most games based on movies, this one is actually fun. It's kind of like a cross between Splinter Cell and Metal Gear because you have times where you need to sneak around but you also get to sneak up and break peoples necks or run around just shooting everything in your way.

One of the outstanding features of this movie/game tie-in is the voice acting, it sounds great and never gets too repetitive. Probably a big reason for this is the fact that the game teamed up with Taigon, Vin Diesel's new game studio. The voice actors include Vin, rapper Xzibit (8 Mile) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy and The City of Lost Children). In addition to the great voice acting, the visuals in Chronicles are great and cut scenes feel very cinematic.

Of course Riddick starts out in a prison colony and has to try to espace, does odd jobs to help himself along the way (odd jobs being breaking someone's neck, etc.!). Along the way you need to make use of the stealth mode and later the 'night' vision mode.

Game play is fairly intuitive and the action and pacing feel right, no lag in game play and no tasks that are just too difficult that you want to give up. Of course that knock is that the game might be a little short, but it is well worth the play. only other knock is there is no multiplayer.

As Ryu Heyabusa (the same main character from the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy in 1989-91 on the NES), you use of all his attacking and defensive techniques, and there are so many different combos, depending on which weapon Ryu is using, that the game offers a list of them in the pause menu.

In one of the cooler features, Ryu can run up and across walls and do numerous moves when jumping back down from the walls. Wall-run moves are done automatically by simply jumping toward a wall. Jumping off of walls can make your downward slashes stronger whch means you better learn to use lots of wall moves during combat.

Midway Games announced today that Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, a psychic-fueled action adventure, has shipped to stores for Xbox. Players will assume the role of Nick Scryer, an elite soldier taking on a sinister conspiracy with a combination of traditional weapons and six psi powers: Telekinesis, Pyrokinesis, Mind Control, Mind Drain, Remote View and Aura View.

In Pandora Tomorrow a mercenary can actually shoot through ceiling tiles to kill spies. If you're playing as a spy, you're able to drop down on a merc and injure or kill him.

Splinter Cell Breakthrough

Tonight I had one of those "Duh" moments while playing Splinter Cell on my XBOX.

I hadn't played it in a while and in anticipation of buying the new Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
I figured I needed to pick up my old copy of the original Splinter Cell and play it through.

For about two hours I was unbelievably frustrated trying to find the "glass elevator". I knocked the kitchen crew senseless, took out the bonehead guard that came to investigate, snuck down the staircase and stealthily took out the first guard I came across. I then descended the stairs like a pro and eliminated the guard by the desk and dropped him in a dark corner. Now this is where it gets tricky......
