We picked up NCAA Football 2005 and have been playing the dynasty mode hard core the last couple days.
Quick takes:
Game play is ok, not as good as Madden NFL 2005. The crowd noise, homefield advantage, player ability to handle pressure (or not) is a nice touch.
The simulation mode with recruiting, coach and team prestige, and managing player discipline adds a lot and is our favorite. It's to the point where we only play really big games and can't wait to get to the new season to see who might turn pro early, who wants to tranfer in and out, and see what blue-chippers we can sign.
To get the full benefit of the simulation, career mode, you will want to play a decent school - doesn't have to be the 6 star school, but go with above 3 stars. Otherwise you don't have the ability to really get in and recruit top players. Once you figure out the recruiting, then go be your favorite small school and see if you can bring them to the big time.
